Early Summer Storms in Rochester, MN

As residents of SE Minnesota in communities such as Byron, Eyota, Oronoco, Zumbrota and Rochester, we find ourselves dealing with early summer storms that are packing a punch to the environment and homes. 

Our weather is all over the place going from cool spring days to blazing hot summer days and we are only in early June. As we prepare for summer storms and tornado season, SERVPRO of Rochester would like to suggest a few tips for renters and homeowners. 

Here are a few tips to help you protect your home and belongings during the early storms. 

• Check the downspouts to ensure they are free from leaves, twigs, branches, nests, and other debris that has blown around. Remove any debris. 
• Do you have downspouts on? Are they pointed away from the house? Are the downspouts intact or need replacement?
• Walk around your home. Do you have items secured in case of strong winds?
• Do you have plants or flowers that need securing?
