Summer Storms in SE MN

In the last few days in Southeastern Minnesota we have finally received some much needed rainfall. However, it's been so dry it will take much more rain for this drought to begin to reverse. These storms brought some heavy rain, hail and strong winds. 

SERVPRO of Rochester has some recommendations to help you assess if your home has received damage. 

Heavy rain?

• Check around your home for any cracks in your foundation to see if water can seep into your home that way. 
• Check your basement or lowest level in your home for water. Many times heavy rains  cause flooding which then the water makes it into your home. Walk around on the carpet or flooring to see if you feel any water or feel squishyness on your feet. 
• Check your gutters for any debris and make sure the gutters are pointed away from your home and foundation.
